Summary of Position:
The assistant teacher works under the guidance of the lead teacher. The assistant teacher is to support the social/emotional, physical, cognitive, and safety for all children under their care.
Responsibilities:
Assistant teachers are to support the children’s learning by following the daily schedule in an environment that is appropriate for the children.
Helps with the day to day observations of the children and follows all guidelines for the classroom that have been assigned by the lead teacher.
Is responsible in following all state rules and company guidelines for a group of children assigned to her.
Nurture the children and attend to their emotional needs within a timely manner.
Use caregiving routines such as those related to diapering, toileting, feeding, eating, sleeping, hand washing, and transitions.
During the lead teacher’s absence, the assistant teacher takes the responsibility of the classroom.
Supervises and always interacts with the children.
Helps with parent/teacher conference, if needed.
Respects all families and maintains confidentiality about the children and their families.
Follows the classroom’s daily and weekly cleaning chart to ensure that the environment is clean and safe for the children.
Physical Requirements:

- Be able to stand, run, sit, pickup, and hold a child

- Be willing and able to drive a center bus safely transporting up to 13 children. Driving a center bus is required for all teachers working with children age 5-11. A Bureau of Motor Vehicle report is required by our insurance carrier and will be conducted to ensure all potential employees required to drive has a good driving record and are at least 24 years of age. The insurance company reserves the right to exclude applicants based on their driving record.

Summary of Position:
The cook will prepare meals, distribute the food to all classrooms, go to the grocery store and clean the kitchen. Must be able to drive the center’s bus in order to complete grocery store runs.Responsibilities:
- Follows a four-week menu cycle for breakfast, snacks and lunch. Follows recipes and substitutes items if necessary, with prior approval from the director.
- Keep inventory of food as well as equipment and kitchen utensils.
- Complete grocery shopping trips once a week or as needed. Prepares the two-week grocery list prior to completing store runs. If additional items are needed, the list must be turned into and approved by the director in advance.
- Ensures that the food is prepared and ready to pass out to the classrooms on time.
- Distributes the food in small containers to allow the staff to practice family style dining.
- Must quickly become familiar with children who have allergies and keep track of each child’s personal food. When the child is running out of food, let the child’s primary care giver or director know so the parent can be notified.
- Must quickly become familiarized with the health and state guideline as well as the company’s requirements for food preparation.
